USA Cookie Policy

This USA Cookie Policy explains how SRM Articles uses cookies and similar technologies for visitors in the United States, with emphasis on California's Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA). It supplements our Cookie Policy and Privacy Policy.

1. CCPA/CPRA and cookies

Unlike GDPR's prior-consent model, CCPA/CPRA primarily uses an opt-out model for the "sale" or "share" of personal information. Cookies and advertising identifiers can collect personal information such as online identifiers, IP address, and browsing activity. When we (or our advertising partners) disclose such information to third parties for cross-context behavioral advertising, that activity may constitute "sharing" under CPRA—even if no money is paid for the data itself.

2. Categories of personal information collected via cookies

We collect this information to operate the Site, measure performance, and support advertising including Google AdSense (ca-pub-7134692382107848).

3. Sale / sharing for advertising

Google AdSense and related ad technology providers may receive identifiers and activity data to deliver ads across contexts. Under CPRA definitions, that can be "sharing." We provide a clear link titled Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information in the footer and cookie banner. Opt-out requests related to advertising cookies should be honored for the browser/device making the request.

4. Your California rights

California residents may have the right to: know what personal information is collected; delete; correct; opt out of sale/sharing; limit use of sensitive personal information (where applicable); and not be discriminated against for exercising rights. To submit a request about information we hold directly (for example, an email you sent us), contact info@srmarticles.com. For advertising opt-outs affecting cookies on this browser, use the Do Not Sell page, cookie Reject/Manage controls, and industry tools such as aboutads.info and Google Ads Settings.

5. Global Privacy Control (GPC)

Where technically supported on the live deployment, we treat a valid Global Privacy Control signal as an opt-out of sale/sharing for that browser, consistent with CCPA regulations. Our cookie script checks navigator.globalPrivacyControl and stores an opted-out advertising preference. Effective 2026 regulatory expectations also emphasize visible confirmation that an opt-out preference signal was honored; the banner and preference UI are designed to reflect that advertising is off when GPC or Reject is applied.

6. Notice at collection

At or before collection via cookies, we disclose that we collect identifiers and usage data for Site operation, analytics (if enabled), and advertising. We may share data with advertising partners for cross-context behavioral advertising unless you opt out. Retention of cookie identifiers follows vendor defaults and your browser storage; contact-form data retention is described in the Privacy Policy.

7. Opt-out does not disable all cookies

Essential cookies needed for security and remembering your opt-out may remain. Opting out of sale/sharing is aimed at advertising/share uses, not at breaking the Site. You can still see non-personalized or limited ads depending on partner capabilities and regional rules.

8. Other U.S. state privacy laws

Other states have enacted privacy laws with opt-out rights for targeted advertising. We aim to honor comparable opt-out requests through the same cookie controls and email contact. Specific statutory definitions vary; contact us if you need help exercising a state-specific right.

9. Children

The Site is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly sell or share personal information of consumers we know are under 16 in a manner prohibited by CCPA without required authorization.

10. How our banner works for U.S. visitors

We still show Accept / Reject / Manage Preferences for transparency and to align with a privacy-forward baseline. Rejecting advertising cookies or using Do Not Sell sets advertising:false in localStorage (srmCookieConsent). You may reopen settings anytime from the footer.

11. Third-party links

Articles may link to external sites. Those sites have their own cookie practices. This Policy only covers srmarticles.com.

12. Contact and updates

Questions: info@srmarticles.com. We may update this Policy as laws and vendors change. See also the EU Cookie Policy if you travel or use VPNs that place you under European rules.
